CIFCA Governor’s Cup Recap

The CIFCA Funny Cars final race of the 2019 season was at Sacramento Raceway Park's 49th Annual Governor’s Cup! Eight CIFCA Teams showed up and two fought for the CIFCA Championship.

Thanks to Medford Dragstrip for hosting the California Independent Funny Car Association and the DragParts.com Blown Alcohol Thunder. The final in CIFCA was between Chris Bates, in the Happy Hour Corvette tuned by Harvey Williams, against rookie of the year contender Rick Alvarado. Bates qualified 2nd with a 7.560 and Alvarado took the System One number one qualifier bonus with a 7.508 on the 7.50 index. James Maher qualified...

The California Independent Funny Car Association (CIFCA) held their fourth race of 2019 season at Redding Dragstrip for the Thunder Under The Lights! Friday night test and tune session was wild. As soon as test and tune was finished a storm roll through Redding Dragstrip and we literally had "thunder under the lights."

Thanks to Lithia Ram & Dodge of Eureka, the California Independent Funny Car Association (CIFCA) funny cars returned to Samoa Dragstrip located on the northern California coastline. This was the third race of the 2019 race season presented by Good Vibrations Motorsports.The CIFCA Funny Cars ran a Chicago-Style show with two qualifying rounds and a final round on the ¼ mile under cool 60 degrees temps.

The California Independent Funny Car Association (CIFCA) held their 2019 season opener at Sacramento Raceway Park during the Annual Funny Car Fever. Eight CIFCA teams came out firing on all eight cylinders for the new 5.90 index and racing to only a 1000ft.
